What we don't claim

There are two roles: owner and manager. A manager can do everything on the farm except delete it; an owner can do that too. There is no complicated table of permissions, because on a farm of four people that is something nobody sets up right and everybody works around. If you need a manager's access to end when their contract does, you can set that date.

Questions worth asking

One phone shared by a working group is usually enough — many farms work exactly that way, with the person carrying the phone recording for the group. Everyone who does have a phone can join, and Divisi is deliberately light enough for a budget Android handset, because that is what is actually in people's pockets.

Yes — that is what this is for. Jobs marked done, diary entries, photographs and ledger lines all sync up as they happen, so from town you are reading the actual record rather than a weekly phone call. It works the other way too: they see what you have assigned without having to be told.

You remove them from the farm and their access ends, while everything they recorded stays in the farm's record where it belongs — the work was real and the history should not develop a hole. For seasonal managers you can set an end date up front so it takes care of itself.

Yes. Anyone on the farm can record work and see the plan; only the owner can do the irreversible things. In practice that means a son at university or a spouse in another town can keep the records up to date without anyone worrying about what they might change.
