Somebody funding a plot from a salary is usually testing whether it could one day carry the household on its own. That question needs three or four honest seasons filed per crop, not a spreadsheet rebuilt from memory each December. Then scaling up, switching crop or stopping is a decision, not a mood.

What you can count on

Every entry carries a date, a name and a photograph when one is taken, and leaves the phone as soon as it has network. A month with nothing in it is easy to see. No app can prove a photo was taken where somebody says it was. This raises the cost of a vague answer; it does not replace trust.

Questions worth asking

Yes. Divisi is tied to the plot, not to where you are standing — you read the same record from anywhere with a connection, and the people at the plot use it with none. There is nothing to configure differently and no separate version for owners abroad.

Not yet, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. Divisi is a phone app, because that is the only device the person at the farm reliably has. Your record syncs to every phone signed in to the farm, so an owner abroad and a manager on the ground are reading the same thing at the same time.

Most people in your position do, and it works right up to the moment you need last April back. A group chat has no structure — the photograph of the spray is four hundred messages above the amount it cost, and the spreadsheet gets updated when somebody remembers. The difference here is that the photo, the date, the crop and the money are one entry from the start.

They are more likely to than you expect, because it gives them something too: the plan for the week, the weather that is coming, and credit for work that otherwise vanishes into a phone call. Where it fails is when it is introduced as a way of checking up on somebody. Set it up as the farm's record and it tends to stick.

Divisi records who did what, spent what and earned what. It has no view on title, and holds nothing that could be used to assert one — which matters on ancestral ground. The record belongs to the farm you created, and you decide who is on it.
