They mark each job done as they finish it, and it lands in the farm record with the date, their name and a photograph taken at the time — so you can see that Tuesday's weeding happened, what the fertiliser cost, and what the maize looked like this morning. It replaces the daily phone call with something you can look back on.

Every amount spent and every sale made goes into the farm ledger against the crop and field it belongs to, in the currency it actually happened in. So the transfer you send stops ending at the receipt: you can see the total that went in, the total that came back, and which crop earned it.
