Auction sales are struck in US dollars. You must be a registered grower with a licensed buyer or club before you deliver, and the leaf must be graded and baled — ungraded leaf is turned away at the floor.

Graded produce is sold by open auction to registered buyers. You must register before you deliver, and the price is struck on the floor.

The story of Kanengo Auction Floors

Kanengo opened in 1979 as Malawi's first tobacco auction floor, near Lilongwe in the Central Region — the heart of the burley growing belt. Two more followed: Mzuzu in the north in 1993, and Chinkhoma in Kasungu in 2004.
