Farmer Input Support Programme

A Zambian government scheme that gets seed and fertiliser to small-scale farmers at a reduced cost, either as a pre-positioned input pack collected from a government warehouse (Direct Input Supply) or as an electronic voucher redeemed at a registered agro-dealer (eVoucher).

| Who qualifies | A farmer must be a Zambian citizen with a green National Registration Card (NRC), a member of a registered farmer organisation, farming no more than 5 hectares within their agricultural camp's area, able to pay the prescribed farmer contribution toward an input pack, not in government or other formal employment, and not already receiving the Food Security Pack. Only one input pack is given per household. |
| What you get | For the 2023/24 season, an approved beneficiary received 3 x 50 kg bags of basal dressing fertiliser, 3 x 50 kg bags of top dressing fertiliser, a 10 kg bag of hybrid maize seed, and either a 25 kg bag of soya bean seed, a 20 kg bag of groundnut seed, 12.5 kg of rice seed, 5 kg of sunflower seed, or 10 kg of cowpea seed — collected using a redeeming code sent by SMS. |
| How to register | Be recorded in the Ministry's national farmer register (ZIAMIS). Your Camp Agricultural Committee then identifies and recommends you on the recommendation of your registered farmer organisation, the District Agricultural Committee ratifies the list, and the district tags approved farmers on ZIAMIS before they appear on that season's Approved Beneficiary list and can pay their contribution. |
