A government-backed loan scheme giving small and medium-scale farmers access to seasonal agricultural credit through partner banks, aimed at farmers who cannot otherwise get affordable financing.

| Who qualifies | Open to small and medium-scale farmers who are not already benefiting from FISP or the Farmer Support Programme; salaried employees, including civil servants, may also apply. The Ministry adds: a Zambian citizen with a green NRC, holding or able to rent 1-5 ha of arable land, registered as a farmer through Ministry extension staff, with a traceable farming record of at least two years. |
| What you get | A seasonal loan of between K13,000 and K70,000 for farmers cultivating between one and five hectares, paid out as farming inputs through local agro-dealers rather than as cash, attracting 12% interest and repayable in cash after harvest. |
| How to register | Register at the district agricultural coordinator's (DACO) office and complete the SAFF application form. |
